Ficus Lyrata - tree

The Ficus Lyrata, often called the lyre fig, is a spectacular houseplant, widely appreciated for its large, fiddle-shaped green leaves. This dense, glossy foliage, with its slightly wavy edges, gives it a majestic appearance and makes this plant a true focal point in any room.

It prefers bright, indirect light and does not tolerate low-light areas very well. Its broad leaves are also sensitive to direct sunlight, which can cause sunburn. The Ficus Lyrata is ideal for bright spaces near windows, but away from direct sunlight. Its relatively fast growth and elegant stature make it a popular plant in modern and sophisticated interiors.

In terms of care, the Ficus Lyrata requires well-drained soil to avoid waterlogging, which could damage its roots. When watering, it is recommended to keep the soil slightly moist, but never soggy. During the warmer months, weekly watering is generally sufficient, while in winter, watering can be spaced out to every two weeks. Ficus Lyrata also thrives in moderate humidity, which may require a misting system in very dry environments.

Although it requires a little more attention than some houseplants, it rewards its care with impressive growth and an incomparable decorative presence.
